I think we all know about (and love) Iron Maiden's first two albums. Perhaps Def Leppard's first two albums would fit in this category as well? Angel Witch released a fine self-titled debut in 1980, although I haven't heard their other two albums. I find Diamond Head to be a bit overrated (I actually like the Metallica covers better than the originals). The Tygers of Pan Tang released a couple of classics with their first two albums (the second features one of my faves, John Sykes, on lead guitar). What are your thoughts on these bands and what are some of your favorites?
Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values.
What to write first? Both first two Maiden are more than classic, Angelwitch debut is also more than classic (the others are not so good) and Diamond Head are gods. Others? The very basics could be "Time Of Changes", Jaguar first (ultimate), of course the best band in the universe Venom, the second best band in the universe Warfare, Raven and thousands more.
Saxon's albums "Wheels Of Steel" & "Strong Arm Of The Law" both kick ass. Witchfinder General's "Death Penalty" fuckin rules. Satan's "Court In The Act" is a classic. More's "Warhead" kicks ass! Even tho Grim Reaper was in the later part of NWOBHM movment "See You In Hell" is still one of my favs.
The first Maiden album, definitely Angel Witch's self titled album, Saxon's "Denim & Leather", Grim Reaper's "See You In Hell", Holocaust's "The Nightcomers". Let me also add bands like Persian Risk and Praying Mantis to the list…

"…My life is broke because my dreams were shattered,
For so very long nothing else mattered…"
I probably should have mentioned Witchfinder General in my original post, although I don't go as crazy for them as some seem to. Maybe it's just the production that hampers it for me. Satan has some great proto-thrash songs, like Trial By Fire (for those that are unaware, no connection to the Testament song)

I bought the album that this song is on, and it has some top-notch NWOBHM with some Tipton/Downing style leads. Delectable.
