Well, the new Nevermore album, The Obsidian Conspiracy, is due out this June. Anyone else as stoked as I am?

"Dead Heart" is one of the few albums that I can enjoy from start to finish. So is "This Godless Endeavor."

Gettin' serious for a while: I have the impression that - in Greece, at least - NEVERMORE's fame was pushed up a lot by the local printed Media for some years. Don't know what happened in other countries, though. Not meaning (of course) they're not good to many fans' ears

That would be so weird here. Nevermore gets almost no coverage anywhere. If any metal is mentioned, it's either stuff like Metallica or Slayer or else newer metalcore crap like Lamb of God. America sucks sometimes

From what I can get, America is so huge and diverse in order to have a more solid acceptance for most bands/styles. But at least, I think again, US printed Media (are there any, really, by now?) probably do not suck big time like most of the British Metal(?) ones.

I think the only printed one that still exists in America and is widespread is Revolver. It caters to the lowest common denominator and praises the "genius" of lousy bands like Suicide Silence. I will admit, though, their nominations for their Golden Gods awards are pretty spot-on, even if only relatively mainstream bands are mentioned.

Hell yeah… One of the few bands that never managed to disappoint me… Amazing albums and live performances as well. Amongst my favorites!

I'm really afraid I will get disappointed… No Andy behind the knobs this time. Enemies is a good album, of course but Nevermore needs Andy's production!

Ok, printed media might be dead. But when it comes to publicity Metal seem to get more and more like Idol or list music. More and more "products" are pushed by media and record companies. In Sweden it's almost the same. I don't want to slam but come on, even if Sonic Syndicate is a hard working band, they're not THAT good. There so many great bands that never ever get a chance to even play a decent gig… All of us can't count on festivals like Keep It True, Swordbrothers and so on…
