put your fists up and prepare to defend yourselves… how many people agree that the 2 IRON MAIDEN albums with BLAZE as a singer were much better than the crap IRON MAIDEN have been releasing since BRUCE returned… ok. i admit it. i can listen to "Brave New World" quite gladly, but "Dance Of Death" and "A Matter Of Life And Death" i only use as beer mats. And "listening quite gladly" is much different than "getting multiple sonic orgasms", which was the case with every IRON MAIDEN album up to 1998 methinks… i only want answers from people who have actually listened to MAIDEN's whole discography. fists up!

I enjoy Brave New World and Dance of Death quite a bit and in my opinion "A Matter of Life and Death" was one of the best albums they've written in their careers. The Blaze albums are repetitive and overlong and in my opinion, Blaze is a far inferior singer to Bruce, even though his past two solo albums have been pretty good.

"Dance of Death" is lame. "Brave New World" is better than the three while "Matter of Life and Death" is ok but has not been on my player after the first listenings… Blaze-albums are an entire subject for discussion. But there are some really good ideas in the X Factor album.

Agree. The "X Factor" album was a pretty good heavy metal album in my opinion. Blaze is definitely a charismatic singer and frontman, but he just couldn't fit in Maiden. His solo works are damn fine. Although I put the high and mighty Paul DiAnno on top of these two guys…

I worship every note Maiden have written till Virtual 11. All these albums are absolutely classic to my ears. After Bruce's return i don't find them so interesting, as a matter of fact Brave New World was semi crap album. But what shall remain after all is that they always played Metal and they never betrayed it despite their ultra huge success.

I really like their new single, "Silver Wings." You can find it on Youtube

New Iron Maiden single? This song was featured in Dickinson's 2001 best of compilation as a previously unreleased track. If they use it in the new album they will be totally lame…

I did some research and you're right, sadly. How embarrassing. I only thought this was new because a friend gave me the link telling me it was a new song, and since I don't own that album, I was fooled.

No worries mate. But some guys on youtube present it like a song that is going to be featured in the new Maiden album. I hope they won't do such a shitty move…

The same applies for Bruce Dickinson, his solo albums were far better than the later Maiden ones.

I actually consider Dickinson's solo albums far superior over anything Maiden have released after "X Factor". They became too sloppy lately, with the peak of that being the ridiculous cover from Dance of Death with the default babies and models from Poser (a famous 3d program for human/humanoid models).

I agree with this. I love to listen Brave New World but this two after are just crap. I can listen to some songs from Dance Of Death like PASCHENDALE but their last album is just plane crap. It seems to me like some sort of college rock. It is their only album that i can not listen at all. The X Factor is great album!!!

Name me one college rock band that has an album where the average song length is over six minutes And I doubt any college rock band could write anything like "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns"

that's an interesting detail… looks like they are ultra-bored in more than one levels… i read somewhere that for their new album they will use a private studio somewhere in the Carribean… har har har… great place for focusing on HEAVY METAL

Over six minutes? Does a song's length has to do with the quality of a song? Personally, I think not.

I'm only jokingly pointing out the ludicrousness of describing Maiden's new music as college rock, no college rock band has songs that are anything like Maiden's. If anything, they're falling into the pitfalls of progressive metal, although I would disagree with that as well. And you're telling me that A Matter of Life and Death was worse than the two Blaze albums? Or No Prayer For The Dying and Fear of the Dark? The latter has some good songs on it but some total horse feces as well…the others are almost completely worthless in my personal opinion.

Well what I got to say is that I love Iron Maiden…They are definitely a HUGE band and they have many great albums…But I hate Blaze's voice as well as "X Factor" and "Virtual XI". Now about the other albums…From "Iron Maiden" to "Fear Of The Dark" all of their albums are kick-ass…"Brave New World" is a very good one…"Dance Of Death" and "A Matter Of Life And Death" have some nice songs…

I never said that it was a bad album, but it has some very poor quality songs on it in my opinion. It's a mixed bag, some greatness, some very weak pedestrian songs.
