8th Sin - Angelseed & Demonmilk (CD)

8th Sin
Angelseed & Demonmilk

Don't you think that all this Industrial/Gothic style has already become a trend? It is not the music that I despise, but it's also not the music that I consider myself experienced enough in order to review this release objectively. Anyway, I'll do my best and try to be as objective as possible with this CD…

8th Sin were founded by Michael and Tony (IT). Originating from Sweden, 8th Sin debuted with the album Sinners Inc. which was released in late October 2004. After that, they recruited the rest of the band (Y, Johan and TG). Angelseed & Demonmilk is their second full-length album, which is released via Black Lodge Records.
First of all, I would like to say that Peter Tagtren has recorded some guest vocals in this album, something that makes this release a bit more interesting. I tried to listen to the CD some times but every time I had the same feeling, boredom. This genre (Industrial/Electro Metal) is not my cup of tea, but I think I am able to distinguish a good Industrial release from a bad one. I have to admit that they have a unique sound and I respect a band when it manages to do that. For fans of the genre, this release may have many things that I couldn't find myself. There were times when I found this band really amusing (in a good way). I mean, I could describe this band as Dance Death Metal (lol)! Even though I got a bit bored with 8th Sin, there were times that I unconsciously followed the rhythm playing air drums or something like that. The samples and all this electronic stuff are used very creatively, avoiding this Marilyn Manson or Rammstein wannabe style.
Great effort that I unfortunately can't clearly judge. The rating could be much higher but it isn't for the reasons mentioned above. Well done guys! I think that all the Industrial fans will love this release…
