Accept - Blind Rage Award winner

Blind Rage
by Fede ”Federock” Taich at 14 August 2014, 10:25 AM

In 2009 Top Metal producer Andy Sneap (SABBATH, HELL) took one of the hardest jobs in the Metal Scene - producing ACCEPT’s comeback album and with a new AMERICAN singer! 2010 “Blood Of The Nations” was a huge success and ACCEPT were back in the top.

Two years later they hit it again with “Stalingrad” that also was a huge success, with a world tour and great chart places.

“Blind Rage” is the third studio album with singer Mark Tornillo. Mark was really well received by the fans and it’s not easy getting into UDO’s shoes. This time the single “Stampede” didn’t make a huge impact on me, the song sound like a formula, and as a fan I was afraid they will become one of those bands that write basic, simple songs just to get in the charts. I WAS SO WRONG! After listening to the full album I can assure you that ACCEPT are not a sellout and this album is just the next step in the evolution of the new ACCEPT!

The album is a very solid one, the sound is amazing (The best sound Sneap got between the 3 ACCEPT Albums), The riffs are Heavy and Crunchy, and the rhythm section is alive and kicking.

After the first two tracks, “Stampede” and “Dying Breed” that also sound a bit like “Teutonic Terror” part II, “Dark Side Of My Heart” really caught my ear with an AC/DC vibe and great chorus. After that one the album is just an Awesome Metal Album with a mix of fast heavy songs like “Trail OF Tears” and “200 Years”, Mid-tempo power tracks like “Fall Of The Empire”, and the epic “The Curse“ with an amazing guitar solo by Mr. Hoffmann that really reminded me of his leads on his solo album.

In conclusion, great album - Third in a row!!! Andy Sneap did it once again.

I also want to add the importance of a producer in this kind of acts. ACCEPT could have easily become a parody of themselves but Sneap got them on the right track and they are once again a top act in the metal scene.
