Aftermath - There Is Something Wrong

Aftermath
There Is Something Wrong
by Craig Rider at 05 April 2019, 1:53 AM

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: AFTERMATH; signed via Zoid Entertainment, hailing from the United States of America - performing Technical Progressive Thrash Metal, on their 2nd full-length album entitled: “There Is Something Wrong” (released February 15th, 2019).

Since its formation in 1985, and then the comeback in 2014; the band in question have 2 albums in their discography so far, I am introduced to their 2nd album entitled: “There Is Something Wrong”. 11 tracks ranging at around 47:18; AFTERMATH arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Technical Progressive, Thrash Metal amalgamations. Beginning the record with the opening track: “Can You Feel It?” conveying cryptic warfare in the midst of battle; demonstrating amplified adrenaline as I advance to the next song: “False Flag Flying”, distributing infectiously groovy injections of crunchy chaos and meticilous mayhem. Boistrously bouncy dosages of chugging gallops, frantically hasty harmonies of creatively inventive distinctions.

Consisting of Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis on vocals; the frontman consistently contrasts with profusely raw pipes of robust ramifications, establishing high-pitched roughness that scream and shriek with savagely sinister malevolence. “Diethanasia” experiments with relentless barrages of frezied flamboyancy; complex dexterity, and a host of diversely dynamic diligence in which ultilizes uniquely versatile varieties with prodegiously wonderous vehemence. Double duo guitarists: Steve Sacco efficiently construct distinguishable hostility; songs like “Scientists And Priest” & “Smash Reset Control” charge blistering executions of thunderously persistent manifestations, rampaging with stampeding maliciousness and interesting implementations in which element concrete gnarliness and gritty detail.

Audible bassist George Lagis batters his axe with adroitly organic aesthetics; assisting solid slabs of seamlessly sonic systematics, slamming razor-sharp rhythms and rapidly swift nimbleness. Hardened hymns; fluidly polished sound production originality, and fiercely fabricated firepower & expertise. “Gaslight” generates grandiose grandures of quintessential quakes; rambunctiously riveting stabilty, and interesting soundscapes - pursuited with progressively technical remorse. Drumming powerhouse Ray Schmidt hammers his set with skillful precision; tracks like “A Handle Of Dynamite” portrays lacerating melodies, omimous orchestration and thumping techniques. AFTERMATH contribute a collective amount of unprecedented Thrash Metal madness; fuelled finesse, and impressive culminations of dominating captivation.

Temptation Overthrown” overarch’s with prestigous quirkiness; traditional subjugation of submerged shines, aforementioned characteristics blend balanced foundations of borderline punchline qualities - remarkably resulting unprecedented performances. “Pseudocide” crafts artistic capabilities; converging contorted, exhuberant remedies that transistions speedy punk sub-genre momentums – ultimately using undeniable peserverence and a magnitude of virtuosities. The titular track embodies ballistically; monstrously volatile viciousness, salubriously rancorous renditions that incites immersive intensities, explosive flairs of lightning bolt electricity. Overall concluding “There Is Something Wrong” with the even more enigmatic finale song: “Expulsion”; I am compelled to say that AFTERMATH certainly outdone themselves here.

Bottom line; AFTERMATH assault a bombarding blitz of menacing waltz of toxic volleys that wave with obscure innovation, evolving eccentrics in which supply unparalled weight and revolving meatiness - good stuff.
