Rise Again is ATP's first album issued through the Man's Ruin (R.I.P.) label.Originally released in 1998, it managed to accomplish their dream: ATP's first album. This album is remastered and repackaged and it also includes two unreleased bonus tracks, Swagart and When Mercury Drops (live). These five guys from Richmond (Virginia) made an album full of great riffs, with a rhythm section made of dynamite, the bass down tuned and the drums stable like a stone. And Johnny Throckmorton's screaming - full of smoke, rippingly and specific - vocals complete the whole work. Rise Again is a stoner rock album with a lot doom passings!! Also all the southern atmosphere in the album makes this release even more interesting and helps the band become a distinguished group on the planet of Stoner Rock. Rise Again has a raw and swampy sound and the production is not so clear, it's rather more noisy like all the albums of ATP. This re-release will probably make ATP a big name in the music scene although they surely didn't expect that back when they first released it. We were just goof-offs playing some fucking noise, down-tuned metal in Erik's basement and we figured maybe we'll fucking do a bunch of basement shows in town and fucking record a demo or something or maybe get someone to put out a 7-inch are Brian Cox's words! Anyone who didn't buy this album for a different reason now is a good opportunity to do so and it's a great chance for the real ATP fans to take this remastered album for the those 2 unreleased tracks!
