Alcatrazz - Dangerous Games (Reissue)

Dangerous Games (Reissue)
by Katarzyna Zakolska at 28 November 2013, 3:19 PM

Before taking a long nap, ALCATRAZZ released “Dangerous Games” back in 1986, without Steve Vai that was replaced by Danny Johnson.

“Double Man” is a favorite of mine, got to love that melodic rhythm section that is so inspiring. Titled track “Dangerous Games” delivering a catchy chorus with a melodic sensation while “That Ain’t Nothin” laying down rougher Rockin' approach, yet still maintaining the band's melodic heritage. “No Imagination” has a Popish ambiance, especially with the drumming and the keyboards. It continues with the vision of “It’s My Life” resonating in an AOR atmosphere. On “Undercover” there is that amazing ASIA craving that I noticed on the early album, potent stuff even with the Pop demonstration. There is also the ballad “Only One Woman” with a stellar Blues performance by Bonnet. Others worthwhile are: “Ohayo Tokyo” succeeding the QUEEN style and “Witchwood” sinking down to the Blues with an itching Rock sound.

“Dangerous Games” might not be as achievable like its previous ones, but still highly recommend as an historic relic of the ALCATRAZZ fame. Another fine piece to your collection, count on it.
