Alexanred - Always Active

Alexanred
Always Active

Finland’s own Industrial Rock band ALEXANRED are new to the scene, forming in 2013 and already releasing an album filled with 9 personal tracks; “Always Active”, released on the 3rd October 2014.

As an opening taster “Holiday in the Cold” draws you in with it’s metallic tone that’s bleak with murmur. Aleksi Susi’s vocals are steady gaining a great interest into this weird yet wonderful sound.

Not a commonly known genre, exposed to the public, ALEXANRED pull this off evidently, giving you a whole new experience.  Followed by “This is my Base” which takes on a heavier static vibe, with it’s repetitive guitar breaks that collide against the vocals smoothly. Clearly contrasting their Industrial Metal noise, it opens up even more doors that are currently not being experienced. A whole new level of surprises and babble are uncovered as they magnate to do it again in “Inhale and Exhale”. Layered with a solid electronic feel, the vocals are anodic and sharp.

As the album progresses, a stand out song to follow comes from “Rest After Result” as it absorbs your ears in with the sharp prick of darkness, before soft sweet vocals are matched, changing the whole aura of the song, to a ductile flow. The chorus is evidently catchy lyrically, along with the patting beat that supports it.

Speeding even further to a close “Non-Stop Non-Stop” elaborates on the bands signature every changing sound as it uncovers more folds in the structure. “Always Active” has had it way by slowly releasing new elements within each track before finally exploding at the last song, where everything comes together in sparks of light.

Certainly not your usual sound, the overall feeling seemed to be muddled and a little too out there as each track did seem to have its own personality, they faulted in reality. As coming from such a niche genre, ALEXANRED have proved themselves to do positively well by this.
