Alkhimya – Emergence

Alkhimya
Emergence
by Brian "Metal" Morton at 27 August 2019, 9:38 PM

Coming to us from France is Atmospheric Blackened Death Metal band ALKHIMYA and their album “Emergence”. The six-piece band is made up of Marie L on vocals, Klem on vocals and guitar, Joe T on guitar, Florian on bass, Franck on keys and Gael on drums. I am really looking forward to reviewing this album so let’s get to it.

The first song “Odysse” is a hard hitting opening track that will leaving you craving more. It honestly reminds me of AMON AMARTH a little bit. This was a really great way to start off the album. The next song “The Fateful Path” keeps the ball rolling and it’s just as awesome as the first track. With the addition of female cleans, this song is absolutely kick ass. I highly enjoyed this song and think most of you would too. The next song up is “No More Lies” which starts off slow and then kicks in with a vengeance. This song is the closest to Melodic Death I have heard so far. I think they keys are honestly what bring the song to life because it adds a great layer to the song.

“Fallen” is absolutely epic! It has so many different levels to it and I love it! I think if the production had been done a little better, this song would be one of the best songs I have heard so far in 2019. But even with that said, this song is fucking amazing! “Earth Dance” gives off a Folk Metal vibe at the beginning which was a nice addition to the album. As soon as it kicked in I knew I was in for a treat. It really reminds me of FINNTROLL a whole lot in the best way possible. It is an instrumental but that is perfectly fine in my book!

“Another Dimension of Mine” really hits on the atmospheric side of the band and it’s a whole lot darker than the previous songs. This may just be my favorite on the album. All in all, the rest of the album is really well done. I highly recommend picking this one up for your metal arsenal. I enjoyed every second of it.
