Allegaeon - Formshifter Award winner

by Sharon "Metal Chick" Bar-Or at 29 May 2012, 1:53 AM

Listening to “Formshifter” by ALLEGAEON affirmed only one thought within my mind: It sounds like all Death Metal bands; the heavy nature (Growling, heavy guitar riffs, and a strong work if the drums and the base…) until I heard the guitar solos… that has changed the game and I can honestly that this is the uniqueness of ALLEGAEON and maybe it's superiority above many Death Metal bands.

The credit for “Formshifter” goes to the drumming and bass work for working together and making an insane décor the come from using double pedal. Combining the drumming and base work with the amazing guitar solos and riffs with the powerful voice of Ezra Haynes = a strong presentation of unique Death Metal. In the fifth track "Twelve", ALLEGAEON use a classic guitar solo which is another reason for why they are so unique. Who the hell says that every Death Metal band shouldn't have gentle sides?! Not me!

There are no rules when it comes to this genre so for “Formshifter” the skies are the limit. There's no one story line but every track has its own story line, its own heroic acts and its own demons like we all have. We are all Formshifters when it comes to or lives: rather if we are among friends or family or at work or at school, rather if we are angry or sad or happy = we are all Formshifters.

In conclusion, ALLEGAEON's “Formshifter” is a masterpiece of chaos including placid parts, a great guitar solos and riffs and even greater drumming work.
