Angry - Future Chaos Award winner

Angry
Future Chaos
by Marcos “Big Daddy” Garcia at 22 September 2014, 7:45 PM

On the entire world, Thrash Metal is coming back to evidence again, with many bands arising from the underground, trying to menace the American Big Four’s reign. And in Brazil, the style is in great evidence. And now it’s time for ANGRY, a extremely violent trio from Mauá, São Paulo to storm Metal Temple pages (and your Ol’ Big Daddy ears) with “Future Chaos”, their first weapon of mass destruction.

Their work is a mix between the musical violence from SLAYER, with the technique of DESTRUCTION and some moments of old ANTHRAX, but with a particular approach from them of how creating a fast, brutal and extremely aggressive music. Their mix of harsh vocals with normal tunes (in the same vein of Tom Araya), violence and intense riffs and solos, and a killing and massive rhythmic basis created by the bass and drums work; it’s pure moshpit and stage dive, not kidding!

The sound quality is very good, dry and heavy, with all instruments clear to our ears and with very good tunes (a good work from the trio along with Vagner Alba). And the design done by Juliana Reis is simple in the booklet, but her art for the cover is very good, showing a bit of what is awaiting our ears.

By the way, the album has some special guests: Renato Habonyni on rhythm guitars and backing vocals, and some backing vocals done by Diego Armando, Juliana Reis (from MARTÍRIA, and the designer for the album arts), Jairo (from CHAOS SYNOPSIS) and Alex Rangel (from ATTOMICA).

Best songs: the powerful and fast, “The Night of Your Death”, with some typical features of Death Metal on drums; the brutal and abrasive “Future Chaos” (with great guitar riffs and vocals), “Struck in the Past”, the drier and more Crossover orientated “Suffocated by Despair” (with another fantastic work done by the drums), and the long “Last Day”.

A great album, and the future to them, seems to guard some good surprises.
