ANN MY GUARD are an alternative metal band from Budapest, Hungary, having begun their journey back in 2007 the band is no stranger to the music industry, with 13 years experience and three full length studio albums such as their debut
“Innocence Descent” in 2015, followed two years later by
“Ourania” in 2017 and they were back a year later with
“Moira” in 2018, the band ended 2020 off with their fourth full length studio release in
“Furia” which was released in December via
Dutch Music Works.
This album is packed with seven tracks for alternative metal fans to enjoy with heavy and dark sounding guitars from
Norbert Nagy and
Kristian Varga along with the hard hitting and melodic skills of
Norbert Tobola behind the kit, all being held together by the bass skills of frontwoman
Eszter Anna Baumann adding to the weight on those heavy riffs along with her incredible vocal tone and amazing ability to come up with those haunting sounding harmonies, giving the band that dark feminine touch of hers.
The albums opening track
“Eclipse” was a very interesting track, the track itself is not a very long one and it is a very soft and almost creepy sounding track and what makes it creepier is the fact that it’s there and it’s gone so fast that listeners are left wondering what they had just heard.
The band released two singles prior to the release of the album, the first
“V0id” was released at the beginning of 2020 and is the final track on the album. The second was the albums title track
“Furia” which was released in October just before the albums release in December. Both tracks give listeners a good taste of what the album sounds like.
Having listened to the album in it’s entirety, I can say that fans of
ANN MY GUARD and anyone who enjoys alternative metal music will enjoy this one for sure.
