Artep - Thy Will Be Done On Earth As Is Done In Hell

Artep
Thy Will Be Done On Earth As Is Done In Hell
by Harry Papadopoulos at 15 September 2010, 8:09 PM

Let me make a long review short. ARTEP is a band from Northern British Columbia Canada, founded in 2005 by Artep. They have released a demo and the “Black War” EP (which contains three songs from “Thy Will Be Done On Earth As Is Done In Hell”) in the past and now here they are with their debut full length album.

OK, you already understood more or less what kind of music ARTEP plays from that cliché album and song titles. Well just to be more precise they are playing symphonic Black Metal. But please show some mercy to the editor! All the typical instrumentation, ideas, titles, vocals are here. This album is not even for the second league. Imagine a band that plays covers from CRADLE OF FILTH and DIMMU BORGIR. Well ARTEP are covering that bands in a worst way. The production is weak, the drums sound like cooking pots and the album sounds messy.

I wouldn’t recommend “Thy Will Be Done On Earth As Is Done In Hell” even to the most devoted symphonic Metal fan. I believe that, in those days of economical crisis we must be very careful where we spend our money. Just for some bass lines…
