BACK TO ORION is a 2 man band from Milan, Italy who bring us the new album “Ignition” which is an 8 song album of hard rock songs with a funky feel. The album is light & upbeat. Both band members have previously collaborated with other artists and bands before coming together to form BACK TO ORION. They have both known each other a long time so must have found creating music together as a thing that came naturally to both parties. In 2011 & 2012 the band released 2 acoustic sets Volume 1 & 2 of the "Acoustic Project." Then they have been pretty quiet until 2019 when they released “Ignition” which is their debut album. It’s not too bad on the eardrums and is quite easy to tune into.

To sum up a few of the tracks on the new debut album here are a few highlights to listen out for. “Here I Stand” is the opening track and tells us the album will have a kind of punk rock feel to it. They sound reminiscent of bands such as BLINK 182, BOWLING FOR SOUP and FALL OUT BOY. It’s a song that’s catchy and makes you want to listen on. “Alone” is song number 3 which opens softly with that upbeat optimism we can expect for the rest of the album. It’s got soothing lyrics that wrap you up like a cosy blanket in winter. Song number 6 is called “Rising Star” and its bouncy and light on the vibe. It holds some quality guitar riffs and the vocals are clear and have an almost Jack Black sound. TENACIOUS D fans will also enjoy this band. Another song to listen out for is “Running Through My Life” which is song number 7 on the album. It’s 3 minutes 25 of summer sounding rock. Another catchy tune off the debut album which is easy to hook onto.

Overall, the duo have came together and created a fine album. They have written the album & produced it well together, and I can say I’m looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us in the future as a band. Back To Orion seems to have been a good concept that has been put into a good practice. I can definitely see me becoming a fan. I will be following the bands path to see where they go from here. If your a fan of fun light lyrics & quality music then I recommend you give this album a listen, you won’t be disappointed. A well written recorded and produced album, not heavy but hard enough to swing your hair to.
