BEYOND VIOLET hailing from the Netherlands plays a melodic twist of Gothic Metal. I was very pleased with their recent EP release “Frozen Words.” Tribal style drums kick off the EP as melodic guitars and vocals with symphonic elements join in, creating their musical style. Throughout the album, the band keeps a symphonic metal sound and adds Pop-Rock elements. Guitar parts have small elements of Progressive Rock. BEYOND VIOLET’s sound is very catchy and powerful at the same time. My favorite part of this release is the lyrics. They give very dark themes and set the mood. If you’re a fan of this genre, you should definitely check out this EP, but keep in mind it’s not necessarily for everyone.
