If you listen to Thrash Metal you sure know BLIND ILLUSION' s “The Sane Asylum”. It's a pretty good album to me and when I saw that they recorded a new CD I couldn't wait to listen to it. I thought that it would be a great comeback of a worth-listening-to band. But unfortunately I was wrong…
BLIND ILLUSION was formed back in 1979 by their leader Marc Biedermann. The were a part of the Bay Area Thrash Scene and they have released their first album “The Sane Asylum” in 1988, which is a Thrash album with some progressive elements, but - as I said before - it's pretty nice. Since their beginning they have changed many members and they have also released 5 demos.
I don't really have something to say about this album… It's definitely not Thrash. By the time I heard the first note I was wondering if I'm listening to the same BLIND ILLUSION I knew. I checked and when I saw that they're the same band I felt so disappointed. It's not the comeback I've been waiting for. It's not the new Thrash album of a band that has contributed in Thrash Metal history. This album is some kind of fuzz-Rock, progressive Rock, with some doom Metal elements or something…That's the way I would describe it to someone if asked… Definitely not my cup of tea.
If you like BLIND ILLUSION's first album, you're into Thrash metal and like classic things don't touch this album…
