Bludgeon - Crucify The Priest (CD)

Bludgeon
Crucify The Priest
by Chris Manouras at 23 March 2002, 10:51 PM

Bludgeon is a Thrash-Death metal band from Chicago, U.S.A with the ability to demolish your speakers with their extreme metallic sound!

Their debut Crucify The Priest (which is to be released on March 25) is defined by thrashing guitar riffs, shattering war-drums and screams of vile brutality.

Very fast, angry guitar passages accompanied by a powerful bass are the prevailing features of the album along with some nice but scattered guitar solos.

The fact that the production belongs to the legendary Joey DeMaio speaks for itself.

Unfortunately, Bludgeon do not offer something new and unique, but prefer to follow the same pattern as most American Thrash-Death metal bands. All songs are similar to one another and the repetition of some parts becomes tiring, if not annoying every so often.

If you are into this type of extreme music then you will probably enjoy this album. Otherwise try something else!
