Bonehunter - Children of the Atom Award winner

Children of the Atom
by Kyle Scott at 18 September 2018, 6:27 AM

Just like how concert goers will always put their horns up during a show, the Netherlands will never stop putting out good, harsh demonic metal for the world to enjoy. BONEHUNTER has spent time crafting a Blackened Punk sound at their damned forge since 2011. With their third album Children of the Atom, their beastly forge of twisted steel and wrought iron is now complete. BONEHUNTER is all about unclean aural filth and unpolished riffs. With strained chords, vocalist and bassist Satanarchist screams pained fury into the mic. Children of the Atom is for the Black Metal enthusiast that still wants to mosh it a pit full of Crust Punks.

With the foreboding intro “Initiate the Sequence” Children of the Atom racks up the suspense and violently unleashes it on the furious “Demonic Nuclear Armament” that features an impenetrable, writhing wall of drums. BONEHUNTER’s Witch Rider plays fire-generating riffs and solos with wild abandon. The disturbed “Sex Messiah Android” paints a gory picture in furious bass riffs and caustic lyrics. “Children of the Atom” sneakily tries to lure you into a comforting intro before dropping you into a rabid circle pit. BONEHUNTER comes off face-paced and incensed. A band singing in the dark, dripping caverns they learned to call home after so many years. They drive their rusted, sonic railroad spikes into you and then wire an electric charge through them. And those spikes are pretty big in the blood-boiling, “Dark Star Carcass”. There’s a deadly Speed Metal-inspired car chase through a graveyard in the epically titled “Cybernetic Vampirism” and a stirring tribute to SPIRITUS MORTIS with their song “Man of Steel”.

BONEHUNTER’s Children of the Atom is an unholy, screaming nightmare death trip of a debut that shrieks into the void at ninety miles per hour. Children of the Atom is available in two weeks on September 28th.
