If you are a fan of Old School Death Metal, look no further than
BURIAL REMAINS and their new album
“Trinity of Death”. Hailing from the Netherlands
BURIAL REMAINS is one of the purest Death Metal bands I have heard recently. The guitarists
Wim de Vries and
Philippus Yntema who also plays the bass for the band, are absolute beasts. Drummer
Danny Boonstra is a machine and vocalist
Svenson Groß is immaculate. When I first heard a song off the album I thought it was an unreleased
BLOODBATH album. Coming from me that means a lot since they used to be one of my favorite bands back in the
Akerfeldt/
Tagtgren days.
It all starts off with
“Crucifixion of the Vanquished” and what a way to start off an album. This is the heavy hitting Death Metal I absolutely love and the melody mixed in makes it that much better. The guitars, drums and vocals are absolutely played perfectly.
“They Crawl” is a face ripper for sure right from the start. It’s definitely a song that will make you want to headbang until you dislocate your head from your spine.
“Trinity of Deception” starts off with a clip from a church service and then jumps into a riff that will blow your ear drums. The song is really heavy but has a slower part that has a creepy vibe to it and then jumps back to the heavier music. This song goes hard as fuck and I loved every second of it.
“March of the Undead” is fucking fantastic. It definitely had my eyes rolling into the back of my head while I made the
Jens Kidman angry face. This is in my top three favorite songs off the album. It almost has a Doom Metal feel to it on top of being a phenomenal Death Metal song.
“Burn With Me” is one of the other top three favorite songs on the album so far. The riffs and drums are blended perfectly as well as the vocals. This whole album so far is pristine and I am elated to have been able to review it.
“Days of Dread” is another that gives off a Doom sound at points. This song is absolutely incredible and written perfectly. It brings out the hellfire and brimstone and makes you want to destroy everything around you. There’s a part at the two minute and sixteen second mark that completely blew me away and made the hair on my arms stand straight up. This is the other song that’s in my top three off the album. We have one song left and so far this album has been a masterpiece.
“Tormentor” the final song on
“Trinity of Death” hits harder than a drunken stepdad. This song will blow you away and if it doesn’t you need to get some psychological help. Honestly this song is tied for one of my favorites on the album. TORMENTOR, TORMENTOR, TORMENTOR BLEGCH! That was fucking awesome! You need to buy this album immediately! You won’t regret it! Watch out because this band is sure to blow up!
