Cage The Gods - Badlands

Cage The Gods

I was truly impressed by the stunning ep titled “Favorite Sin” with an unforgettable cover art. The songs were simple, powerful, and attractive but in the same time set in very smart nature, a mix of sensational anthemic hooks with a rebellious spirit and clever harmonic sophistication!

Those songs from the early EP are still there and its among the best cuts, indeed “From the Start”, “Wake Up” (now featured only as a bonus track) , “Favorite Sin” and “Sacrifice” in a splendid acoustic rendition, were already essential, and the new material still, in absolute coherence, seems nevertheless a little more tagged in an organic contemporary style!

A delicate balance between the old school Hair Metal method and the modern efficiency, please reads TESLA / LYNCH MOB / SLAUGHTER meets ALTER BRIDGE / BUCKCHERRY under a Southern influence with a slight HINDER overtones!

Most similarities and equivalencies are provided by the many facets of lead singer Peter Comerford who holds a serious potential and a good vocal technique, but most of all a strong personality in his melody!

Each title reveals a furious dose of sing along/headbanging content, direct and precise, beautifully produced/engineered and recorded by the guitar player himself. Hats off to Mr Jam from Scottland!

If you are still searching for the perfect summer musical companion in order to relax and party all night, here is "Badlands" the debut long play by CAGE THE GODS coming all the way from the United Kingdom!
