Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: CELESTIAL WIZARD; signed via Scarlet Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Heavy/Power Metal, on their sophomore full-length studio album entitled: “Winds Of The Cosmos” (released July 15th, 2022). Since formation in 2011 (as SOLARFALL until 2018); the quartet in question have only 2 full-length studio albums in their discography so far entitled: “A Sinister Awakening” & this here 2nd album of which I am introduced to. 9 tracks ranging around 42:45; CELESTIAL WIZARD arranges an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Heavy/Power Metal culminations.

Opening up with this synthetic wave of rhythmic jazz momentum; “Andromeda” distills a harmonic assimilation in a battering barrage frenzy of rampantly rompy thuds & sturdy rumbles of reverberating melody, belting a clobbering foundation in boisterously bouncy rips of shredding tempo on monolithic synergy from bass/guitar maelstrom riffer Guillermo Jurado. Nothing but an amplified adrenaline in weighty tightness punches out with riveting thrust; piledriving with thumpy volatility on razor-sharp hooks as concretely gritty dexterity dynamically fabricates at a flamboyant flair on wildly rushing remedy, bulldozing eardrums with sonically seamless substance on organic virtuosity that’s most piercing & rolling with thunderous meatiness to boot. “Revenant” rollicks with more frolicking chugs and galloping density, trembling speakers with hybrid experimentation and grindy sulfurity. Venomously injecting an infectious calamity in meltdown riffage that impulses heads with rambunctious solidity, where hammering drummer Tim Gillman smacks the set with steely precision & pummeled pounds that tremor souls with crunchy catchiness in a headbanging rampage of stampeding synergy that’s most groovy.

Ice Realm” overdrives you with more flamboyant firepower expertise; crafting an intense execution in a firing all cylinders attribute while piercing through with an all guns blazing prerogative that manifests with tremolo raising crescendos and hefty strikes that pursuit with persistent stridency, persevering with vivacious techniques that are immensely chunky. Amethyst Noir on vocals soars with uproarious throatiness on raspy yells that shout with guttural growls for good measure. “Powerthrone” chops brutally with more scouring shrieks & ethereal but tenuous revs that showcase some rapidly swift nimbleness to boot, implementing a prodigious prowess while thrilling sound production ramifications rattle heads for a feel-good entrancement… introducing clean cords from Nick Haberthier backing vocals while twinning strife tempestuously utilizes unique vehemency that’s rather prolific whilst satisfyingly grandeur.

Eternal Scourge” merges more of that joint singing that masquerades with clamorous barks; culminating blackened squeals with punky wrath, while the melodic instrumental finesse forges a distinctive but steamrolling slabbiness that’s primitively raw whilst bombastically berserking and distinguished. A fueled grandiosity salubriously rifts with motoring pandemonium; where nothing but distorted contortion zestfully renegades with momentous furore in a borderline empowerment of jumpy revs, which sears through your heads ferociously with scathing but breakneck agility - especially in “Steel Chrysalis”. “Undead Renegade” swelters through with extreme, high-octane madness… where stompy & pulsing euphony drills with through onslaughting ponder, where this rigorous vigor systematically smothers you with razing relentlessness whilst profusely robust jingles rattles through with upbeat vocalization to boot.

The penultimate banger “Cyberhawk” chisels with more sublime loftiness; as imploding heaviness compiles enthralling instrumental spellbound that’s rather transfixing whilst symbiotically motivating and glorious, mesmerizing to the fullest extent - CELESTIAL WIZARD morphs within you like a spellbinding necromancer that’s archaic archetype is nothing short of mage-esque sorcery. Overall concluding “Winds Of The Cosmos” with the finale epic of the titular track itself; I am compelled to say that I enjoyed a brilliant Heavy/Power Metal record that combines both of the 2 genres intriguingly well, justifiably mounted with an entertaining discovery and experience that you should jam to a good bunch of times. Worthy of spinning & replaying should you fancy a fix in Heavy/Power Metal majesty, do check it out.
