Fond of bikers, chicks and Rock & Roll? Yeah bitches, CHROME DIVISION are back with a brand new album! I suppose you remember these guys, since they have some well known musicians playing a kind of music that has absolutely nothing to do with what they do in their main bands. If you have ready my review on the band's previous offering Doomsday Rock 'N Roll you will probably already know what I am talking about.
The band exists for 4 years (they were formed in 2004) and as I said above has absolutely nothing to do with its members other activities. To be more precise, CHROME DIVISION features DIMMU BORGIR's Shagrath on guitar, ASHES TO ASHES bassist Bjorn Luna, MINAS TIRITH drummer Tony Kirkemo, who actually replaced the band's former drummer Lex Icon (THE KOVENANT). After a really nice debut album, the Norwegian blacksters return with one more filthy Rock & Roll offering.
Despite their Black Metal roots, these musicians are not afraid to show their love towards straight forward Heavy Metal and Rock & Roll with MOTORHEAD influenced riffing, relentless and passionate drumming and macho vocals. You can easily understand the band's intentions by taking a look at the track listing. With such song titles what do you expect?
The band's music is really close to the above mentioned gods MOTORHEAD, while they may also remind you a lot of the party animals TURBONEGRO, as well as the Finnish madmen LORDI. Let's be honest from the start, Booze, Broads & Beelzebub is not the album that may enter the top 5 or 10 releases for this year by no means, but it is a fucking heavy offering by some musicians that wanted to do something different. In fact it is better than you may imagine. Do not think that I say all these things just because there are well known musicians in here…
CHROME DIVISION is a really nice band with songs that make your day with great guitar work and an ass kicking rhythm section. I saw some people saying that they are the legitimate successors of MOTORHEAD. Let's be serious. They haven't got even the half of MOTORHEAD's quality, but they definitely do have the guts to play some ass kicking heavy Rock & Roll and make you want to get up and dance.
