Crazy Lixx - Forever Wild Award winner

Crazy Lixx
Forever Wild
by "Metal Mark" Garcia at 04 July 2019, 9:23 AM

Honestly, in the 80’s, no one ever heard about Glam Metal or Hair Metal bands. They were called back them as Hard Rock, nothing more than that. Maybe the other labels came to organize things, but they’re boring to deal with sometimes. Whatever you can call them, the Swedish quintet CRAZY LIXX is honoring the tradition of Sweden on this specific form of music, as their latest “Forever Wild” is here to show.

The band’s musical genre is a hooking and thunderous Glam/Hair Metal in a similar way to KISS (on the 80’s Glam era) and MÖTLEY CRÜE, but using an amazing and savage energy on their songs along hooking choruses and good technical approach. It’s not something new, but it’s excellent, alive and biting hard and deep all of those who dares to hear their music. Danny Rexon (the band’s lead singer) and Chris Laney produced the album, creating a modern and clean sound quality, in a way that everything can be heard and fully understood. But of course, it has that silk touch of ferile aggressiveness that this musical genre must bear. So be prepared, for they’re in for the kill!

The “Up all Night, Sleep all Day” feeling is clear on all the songs of “Forever Wild”. And songs as the brutally melodic avalanche unleashed on “Wicked” (excellent chorus, with charming vocals and backing vocals), the savage catchy guitar riffs of “Break Out” (truly accessible, with fine harmonies) and on “Silent Thunder” (this one bears a very good rhythmic work), the charming melodies of “Eagle” (a fine ballad, indeed), the accessible ambiance of “It’s You”, and their musical romance with AOR shown on “Never Die (Forever Wild)” are the finest moments of the album, although the other songs are excellent as well.
