DEAD CONSPIRACY is a new name to me, and they might be new to some of you guys also. In brief, the band are based out of the USA (Portland, Oregon to be more precise) and were active from 1985 until 1990 before splitting up, only to be reformed in 2012.

A long time has passed since then, but the band sounds extremely old-school; even though the album that I’m going to talk about was released in 2016. They probably have some secret formula of playing that makes them a bit different from the other bands in similar genres. Their playing style could be described as a wicked mix of Death, Thrash & Black Metal. The vocals are a bit of a mix between Death and Black Metal and the riffs are incredibly Thrash influenced, but no genre stands out above any of the previously mentioned; everything is balanced perfectly.

Their 2nd full-length album from November 15th, 2016 (released via the grip of Necromantic Press) consists of 9 tracks of pure terroristic and evil Metal for your ears. It is definitely recommended for the older Metal fans, the ones that enjoy some incredibly raw production, purposefully so of course.

The music has some Crossover moments too, and at some points everything reminds me a little bit of MORTA SKULD, BLOOD FEAST, NADIMAČ, WEHRMACHT and many more. “Blood Everywhere” opens the album with no intro, just straight forward nasty riffs and brutal vocals. “In the Wake of the Butcher” the second track, is a brutal one, and also gives way to some of the tracks that reach beyond the Black Metal sounding screams, adding some guttural growl vocals even, which surprised the shit out of me.

Being that I have never heard of this band, I enjoyed blasting this album on full volume. It’s a great comeback.
