Beer, Bong Hitz and Black Metal; what better way to spend a gloomy storm filled night? DRAWN INTO DESCENT, actually, is pretty decent on such a stormy night. I will point out that this is another one of those atmospheric Black Metal bands that really fit the mold. So, it does sound quite similar to a lot of the others in the genre. But when you pay attention to the songs, you pick up on all kinds of need little things. There are some pretty good solos, and just little details that really start to pop.

The first song got a little repetitive with the rhythm guitar playing what seemed to be the same three fucking notes over and over, but other than that, it was a rather interesting listen. They did get heavy in parts. I am right in the middle with this album, but it’s not too boring. I mean this particular sound is not one that I listen to often, but you fans of the subgenre should enjoy it quite so. I have no reason to believe that these fellows are not talented individuals. They certainly throw everything they have into their music. I mean to say, I probably would not be disappointed in their live show. I bet it would be fun to catch them live (especially on a dark stormy night).

I really have no reason to shit talk this band, nor give them a bad score. I mean, I’m quite in the middle with the self-titled album, There were things I liked and things I disliked. For anyone into the Atmospheric Black Metal, I really think you’ll like this particular number. It’s not my cup of tea, but my opinion is not enough to be discouraging. I think they have a lot of potential. I personally would like to see them create and veer towards a something slightly more unique, and I have no reason to doubt that they will find a niche that will make them explode. So give it a listen, the neutral score is merely my dislike of the particular sound they chose to go with.
