Drive By Wire - Spellbound Award winner

Drive By Wire
by Tiffini Taylor at 20 February 2018, 1:00 PM

DRIVE BY WIRE is a band that will make one’s heart throb. This is especially true for the first song “Glider”. There is a strong drum beat that is possessed throughout the song. It is heart-pounding good. This female fronted band of Dutch desert Rockers have the talent to make one like them. The almost raspy style voice of Simone Holsbeek makes you not want to listen to anything else.

The hard driving guitar throughout this nicely produced album will make one take notice of the talent it takes to play. The years of hard work from the band shows in this album. “Mammoth” will have you dancing or at the very least head banging.

“Apollo” is a slower song that is mellow. It is a great relaxing Rock song. “Blood Red Moon” has a very Bluesy edge sound that is completely captivating and toe-tapping. This is the crossroads where Blues and Rock meet perfectly. “Super Overdrive” has a great driving guitar throughout. The vocals are great. It’s a good song in all aspects.

“Lost Tribes” is something that can only be described as spiritual in nature. This has a very “let’s all go out to the desert and find ourselves” feel. The vibe one gets just from listening to this amazing song is spiritual awakening. Changing gears to “The Devil’s Fool” with incredible drums and guitars throughout. A great Metal song. It is one to get one grooving. “Lifted Spirit” will lift one’s spirit in a positive way. A good vibes song, forever.

The last song is also the album name “Spellbound” and it rocks. An eerie beginning that can only be described as beautiful. A great Rock song from talented musicians. This entire album is one that will leave anyone “Spellbound”. It has everything; good drums, good vocals, good guitar, and good bass. Nothing is missing. The production and writing of this album is well done in every way. One will enjoy listening to this time and time again.
