Eisregen - Knochenkult (CD)

by Harry Papadopoulos at 16 November 2008, 9:17 PM

First things first. I don't speak German! And why should I? So don't wait anything like a small bio from EISREGEN or anything written at their official and MySpace site. So this is going to be a very short review.

As far as I was able to find out, this is their seventh full-length album, since they are active for, more or less, thirteen years! Knochenkult has a mixture of fast and slow parts, all combined nicely. I've managed to listen some older songs from their MySpace page and, even if I am not that sure, I believe that they changed their sound a bit, making it more brutal and pushed all the electronic sounds to the background. They still have some songs with keyboards and clean vocals though. Their extreme Metal is quite good and it's obvious that they are in the music industry for that long. Here you will listen to nice melodies, combined with Black/Death Metal parts, that make it an interesting album. The only disadvantage I can find is the language. Many people may find it awkward listening to German if they don't know the language, just like me.
A nice album that I will listen to it again but I would prefer that EISREGEN used the English language. But that didn't hold them back in their country; they entered the official German album charts again on position #40. Give them a chance and listen to EISREGEN.
