Endseeker - The Harvest

The Harvest
by "Metal Mark" Garcia at 04 October 2019, 6:04 AM

There are times when Death Metal fans are bored from the endless subgenres of it, and just want something nearer from the genre’s roots. Yes, a travel back in time, to remember the earlier brutality and hooking musical arrangements from the glorious days of the Second Wave, the years when ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, MORBID ANGEL, OBITUARY and others were releasing their earlier classic albums. If the dear reader is one of them, then “The Harvest”, the second coming from the German Death Metal piledrivers ENDSEEKER, was made for you.

The band works in a way similar from the earlier days from Death Metal, gathering influences from Swedish scene (the jigsaw guitars are a proof of that), from British and North American Schools as well. But don’t think that they’re copying something, no, they mix their Old School sound with some Thrash Metal influences. So be prepared for an overdose of energy that comes from their songs. Eike Freese (the same one that worked with GAMMA RAY and DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, and that plays guitars on HANSEN & FRIENDS) is the album’s producer. And he created something that is clear and defined, but that allows the band to sound Old School in many forms. It’s a perfect blend between the crude insight of the past with the modern technologic studios’ support.

And be prepared, because they’re wild and free, ready to turn your necks and ears into pieces! The hooking brutal energy of “Parasite” (excellent guitars and grunts) and “Pulse”, the Old School outfit of “Spiritual Euphoria” (insane drumming and bass playing), the slow paced tempos of “Whores of War”, the simple and charming musical arrangements shown on “The Harvest”, and the massacre committed on “Vicious Devourer” are their finest bloody attacks. But don’t you dare to miss the personal version for MEGADETH’s “Symphony of Destruction”. The final words about “The Harvest”: if you’re an addicted to brutality, then ENDSEEKER created this album thinking of you. Listen to and enjoy the destruction of your eardrums!
