Entombed A.D. - Back To The Front Award winner

Entombed A.D.
Back To The Front
by Michael Coyle at 18 August 2014, 11:45 AM

I would like to personally say how excited I am to be doing this review, for years I have been a massive fan of ENTOMBED and what they have brought to the Death Metal world, not only that but even to this day they still bring one hell of a show to the stage, for those who witnessed this at this year's Bloodstock Open Air you will know what I mean by this.

We start off with the opening track "Kill to live", as the song begins we are greeted by a very strange nursery rhyme like music which starts to evolve as the song goes on with a very keyboardist type of sound, once the opening finishes we are now dragged into a heavy aggression of guitars speeding along to a hefty rhythm of beats and bass lines.

once the song gets into its groove we enter the vocals of the mighty Lars Petrov, bringing what he does best, Heavy! relentless! vocal lines, from listening to this song I find myself screaming the lines Kill! To! Live! and feeling almost like a chant that seem so familiar to me.

We now enter the second track "Bedlam Attack", and as before i find myself driven into a pot of heavy grooved riffs ripping everything in sight, it needs to be said that when you listen to any album ENTOMBED have to offer you're going to bang your head to the beats and grooves offered before you, and this song proves that very point, this has some of the heaviest shit I have heard in a while, listening to the vocals of Mr. Petrov forces the raw energy out of you and wasting it on whatever may be around, all in all one hell of a track.

To conclude I would just like to thank ENTOMBED A.D. for making one hell of an album, out of everything I have heard this year this takes top priority on my top ten for the year, not only is this album heavy, but it stands by every album that this band has brought into our lives, I can personally say that this album reminds me why I became an ENTOMBED fan to begin with, and at the age of 21 I can say I stand by ENTOMBED A.D.!!
