The murderous mental trio out of Memphis, Tennessee who call themselves EVIL ARMY have just released an (EP) for Ohio's Hells Headbangers Records. Originally working with Housecore Records, this severe disorder and chaos is raw primitive Thrash for fans of TOXIC HOLOCAUST, early SODOM, HOLY MOSES, VIOLENT FORCE, etc. These exploited southern retro-Lords clearly have risen from the ashes of nuclear winter, and are on a path to the edge of destruction.
Apparently high commander Robert "Evil" Wilkerson recorded most of the music while incarcerated. He preserved the bass tracks from Matthew "Bones" Brown who died of an overdose in 2009. He sanctioned his twin brother Michael "Murder" Wilkerson to lay down all the drums. This would explain the rough muddy demo garage sound, which is clearly not well-produced, poorly mixed, and horribly managed.
All three tracks are culled from the “Armory” demos, which also included a BATHORY cover of “The Reaper”. This unholy trio is obsessed by cruelty, but this is no deathlike silence. To me this is the wrong approach to revisiting the 80s underground Teutonic scene. The songs are too simple and they all utterly lack originality. However, if this gritty DIY attitude holds you under attack, then let these scum of the earth keep you driven unto violence and force.
