Fallen On Faith - Rapture

Fallen On Faith
Rapture
by Katarzyna Zakolska at 08 April 2013, 2:03 PM

FALLEN ON FAITH is band from Hawick, Scotland, formed in 2011. “New Beginning” was their debut EP welcoming the debut album “Rapture”, released just recently via Sliptrick Records.

Youthful energies engulfs with “Into The Noise” following the strong guitars riffs, pace changing rapidly, exponent soloing and a melodic clean vocal chorus aligned with screamos. Sometimes it gets a bit lackluster, yet the chorus is quite memorable. I like “Learn to Walk Away” with its impressive rhythms generating strapped riffing, whirlwind paced drumming. The end result is a mixture of Heavy and Death Metal stinging with the same type of chorus structure as the prior track. Worth listening is the over 7 minute epic song, “Even Hero's Fall”. This one has a tighter rhythm, melodic yearning, fine guitar playing display and softer vocals. Influences of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE are noticeable on “End To Our Story” mostly for the way of playing. In my opinion, the prickly vocals on “Open My Eyes” sometimes seem like an intrusion, due to bad mixing probably, during the course of the music. I hope that it will improve in next recordings.

In conclusion, FALLEN ON FAITH have released a nice piece of music for a debut, albeit, I really want to believe that they will improve. The band’s style is pretty interesting with a shell of modern Metal notched with elements of Rock and Death Metal. It is a great blend, presenting a youthful front for the masses.
