False Reality - End Of Eternity

False Reality
End Of Eternity
by Andrej Romić (Nekrst Fanzine) at 16 May 2017, 12:26 AM

FALSE REALITY hail from Romania, a country not really known for its Metal scene, and yet, this is a band some of you should and probably will check out - if you’re into the genre the band plays.

The band have been active from 1998 to 2003 - with the split probably caused due to label misunderstandings a year before that. So the band decided to call it quits until 2011, when they reformed and have remained active since that very day. Their discography consists of a demo released in 1999 called “Escape from Doom” - which was a bit longer than 12 minutes and consisted of 2 tracks; plus it was an independent release.

In the first period of their existence, the band was signed to Sidekick Records, but as of their second period they are signed to Loud Rage Music. They also released an EP in 2002 called “Tales of Eternity”, which was a much more…let’s say: mature. It was a bit more progressive when it came to their sound, plus it consisted of 5 tracks, clocking in at around 25 minutes in total. Now, the band has presented us their brand new full-length record in 2016, after 14 years of studio inactivity, and that album is called “End of Eternity”.

You may be asking: since they only have one full-length, how can I know that this is their best material so far? Well, take the years for example. Anyone can write a great album in 14 years, no matter how active or inactive they are. The band, influenced by sad themes, nature, death, combines all that with a beautiful but yet brutal Melodic Death and Black Metal sound. Of course, there is a lot more than what I’ve written down for you. Expect a lot of progressiveness, perhaps some Doom, and some shifting influences of both modern and old-school Black and Death Metal that are all very finely mixed; not giving any genre a dominant place, but putting the two to war without an actual victor. Enjoy this great band!
