FARRADAY is a new melodic Rock project that was bred in Athens, Greece in the beginning of 2012. The twosome crew created a form of AOR and melodic Rock. "Shade Of Love" is their debut offering, releasing it via AOR Heaven.
“Can't Get Enough”, coming as track number 7, is without a doubt my chosen song of the entire release, a ground of heavier riffing but with addition of an AOR rhythm section, intensely melodic, catchy with great lyrics. There is a little to the Swedish H.E.A.T. “Out Of Nowhere” sounded like a reminiscent of GIANT, a memorable chorus with beautiful melodic singing. “When Passion Burns” is passionate and energetic track, laying down the voice of vocalist Ada Livitsanou. “There For You” is a well-played ballad crossing with gentle guitars mixed with an ample rhythm section overcast by a fabulous saxophone played by Mike Vlatakis. Certainly the Saxophone is a changing factor for this song, contributing to its uniqueness. “Can't Wait On Love” inspired by 80s Hard Rock / AOR, on the verge of BAI BANG with its direction, very neat. I liked the guitars' mix providing feisty riffs in the catchy number, “Breakin' Down”, where there is also a great cloud of keyboards, there is a true melodic pattern and a tremendous guitar solo. “Shade Of Love” reminded me a lot the old AOR hit of WHITESNAKE, "Is This Love?", a fine dose of pure melody and emotion. “Rock U (The Old Fashion Way)” had me tackling with FOREIGNER, surfacing articulate AOR riffs while the opener “One Way Ticket To Hollywood” recollects early 80s signatures in a slick fashion.
The venture of FARRADAY is an acclaimed form of AOR meets Hard Rock, a song list of melodic intention, catchiness and suave listening. This is one of those examples of how Rock music should be made.
