With the release of “
The Past Years Anthology 1989-1997”,
FATAL ATTRACTION has offered up their complete catalog of songs as a gift to their most die hard fans, and because this CD run is limited to 500 units, they will surely go fast. A professional promo photo is also included in this special edition release. Because they experienced multiple line up changes throughout their recording career, by releasing their full catalog, they have left no stone unturned and are presenting all participating musicians of
FATAL ATTRACTION a chance to be heard on this release.
Hailing from Thessaloniki, Hellas,
FATAL ATTRACTION is a progressive hard rock band that arrived on the scene in the late 80’s with high hopes of having a long and storied career in the music industry. Although they never really hit the so-called “big time”, they persevered for almost two decades and recorded enough quality material to warrant their newly released anthology. The finally called it “quits” in 1997. This collection of songs displays their originality and passion that was ever present throughout their journey. Sounding like a mixture of
DREAM THEATER and
RUSH, a heavy dose of keyboards, high octave vocals and catchy guitar riffs are the theme for this band and their songs are catchy enough to have kept me moderately interested for the first listen. This is a band that had all of the talent necessary to become a real player in the hard rock arena, but with this industry being a very difficult one, they just never materialized into a headliner.
All in all, this is a pretty good hard rock release for the fan of
FATAL ATTRACTION and should put a final stamp on their prideful careers. Founding members,
Vangelis Papageorgiou (keyboards),
Vangelis Notopoulos (bass) &
George Markousis (guitar) are joined on this recording by
Panos Dimitriou (vocals & backing vocals),
John K (vocals),
George Baharides (vocals),
Dimitris Asteriadis (guitars),
Kostas Poulis (guitars),
Thanos Sarketzis (drums),
Alex Dimarelis (drums),
Chris Tokatlides (drums), and
Thodoris Evaggelinos (drums).
