I’m here to review “Furror Incarnatus” by the band FEARED who is unsigned at the moment and sometimes a band is unsigned for a reason. There certainly are a few reasons why FEARED is not signed to a record label. This is the only FEARED record I’ve heard so I can’t really say if this is a “good” or “bad” FEARED release compared to their previous albums. What I can say is that this album is really boring for me, it just didn’t click. The vocalist sounded like he was lazy and was holding back. Some of the lyrics I could understand sounded like a sappy teenager complaining about his “hard” life. The percussion section was really lack luster doing little more than keeping the rest of the music on beat. Nothing really stuck out at me and grabbed my attention. It sounded like these guys made this album just for the sake of making another album. Luckily this album isn’t a total loss because a few riffs from the guitarist were pretty groovy. The opening riff for “Possessed” or the closing riff of “Vintersol” was decent but there really wasn’t anything different or special about this album. All the songs sound the same and that gets boring quickly. This had potential but the musicians sounded like they decided not to apply themselves and therefore you have a lazy sounding record.
This isn’t a total heap of garbage; it just gets boring hearing songs that sound so familiar over the course of an entire album. This band reminds me a lot of DETHKLOK and a lot of people like them but their style of death metal is really boring for me. So if you like DETHKLOK you might like “Furror Incarnatus”.
