Oh well what do I have here? The first time I heard from this "one man project". This is a very hard EP to talk about. At first I'd say this is not for everyone's ears. It mixed with many elements, mainly Stoner rock structures and psychedelic while not being it at 100%. Maybe 40%…it shares a lot of psychedelia, sound landscapes, electronics, keyboard effects, and even Synthpop at some times. Some people may call it experimental BlackMetal and it is not false at all. This album is very interesting for the melomaniac and the one that likes to analyze and likes to be surprised. It was recorded between September 2017 and June 2018 at Fonoputìa Studio and released on Southern Hell Records
I had a great time listening to it. It made me travel a lot, forgetting to get out of the bus while going to work like two times…I was too busy analyzing it and my head was out of this world. Hailing from Italy, this project made me think about SIGH, the black metal project, for the way it kidnapped me and dropped that big shroud on me, and I felt both comfortable and amazed. I don't know if mister Felis will release a full length soon or if he prefers to put out things one drop at a time, but he will surely have my attention from now. This is deconstructed but still cohesive. It needs time to "domesticate" it!
Habitually when I like an EP that much I want more and find it too short, but this time while it wasn't an easy listen, it was like listening to an entire album at first, like listening to "SUMMONING". This is worth the listen if you are open minded or a post black metal fan that always search for fresh meat. This guy has talent and he's quite courageous and genuine.
