Feral – Where Dead Dreams Dwell Award winner

Feral
Where Dead Dreams Dwell
by Samii Mittelstaedt at 11 August 2015, 12:46 AM

When someone tells you – “Look, it’s a Swedish Metal band!” – you start to feel yourself excited. The Swedish Metal bands never disappointed you, specially the Death Metal bands, due the Swedish great tradition on this style. Names like ARCH ENEMY, ENTOMBED, DARK TRANQUILITY represents the Swedish Metal scene's name pretty well to the entire world. And I’m here with the second FERAL’s full-length, called “Where Dead Dreams Dwell”. The band’s line-up is no strangers to Metal scene. They played in bands like DARKCREED and BLODSKALD, and made gigs with SIX FEET UNDER. And they didn’t make me feel the taste of deception, I thought. It’s an abrasive, raw and angry album. David Nilsson’s guttural grunts are aggressive, but totally understandable, and Markus Lindahl is rapping his guitars in many songs. It’s that album that you put it to listen all without skip to the next track!

I’m not the better person to write about Death Metal, but the few bands that I listen and compare with their song, I can just tell you – they’re more than competent! The most aggressive and devastating songs are “Carving The Blood Eagle”, with an angry drums introduction made by Markström, and great riffs and solos by Lindahl. Also, we have awesome tracks like “Swallowed By Darkness” with one of the best guttural grunts that I heard actually from Nilsson, and “Succumb The Terror”, that makes you are being devastating and bombarded. If you miss talented and competent bands in Death Metal scene, you must listen the new FERAL album. It’s a new life in Death Metal scene.
