Force Of Evil - Force Of Evil (CD)

Force Of Evil
Force Of Evil
by Grigoris Chronis at 06 September 2004, 10:19 PM

Do you believe that fate is mercyful? Well, be sure that these guys surely do! At last some remarkable good metal work is finally released! Even a deaf dog could instantly distinguish that the whole atmosphere of this small gem dates back to the glorious days of Mercyful Fate! More precisely Force Of Evil sounds as the natural artistic successor of “9  (1999) - perhaps it could be also called Ten, ho-ho! But what more could you expect since 3 out of the 5 members of the band belong to Mercyful Fate, one belongs to the King Diamond band and one to Iron Fire (All Hail!).
But worry not my evil metal brothers! The fact that there is huge musical, lyrical and artistic similarity (with the exception of the voice of course!) towards the Mercyful Fate golden years should not make you feel uncomfortable. The truth is that this album contains fresh ideas - very good and tight production - exceptional work in rhythm but mostly lead guitars!
Of course it would be silly to talk about a worthless copy of the aforementioned band. These guys have made something unique of their own! Fragments of Judas Priest, old Scorpions, Deep Purple are found here but all passed through the personal music filter of the over - underestimated guitar titan - his majesty Mr. Hank Shermann! Sometimes you feel that this band sounds as Mercyful Fate with Joey Tempest (from Europe) on the vocals! Mercyful Europe or European Fate maybe! Oh no, just kidding!
In conclusion if you feel like a true believer of quality European Metal - ignore the US crappy stuff - dig yourself in this ear-orgasm, senses-satisfaction, piece of music and have evil fun!
So until the next dawn from the King of Diamonds and his mercyful company try the Force Of Evil to fill your ears and brain with true high quality heavy metal music and ignore all the fake imitators.
