Forged in Black - The Exodus Award winner

Forged in Black
The Exodus
by Luke Bravin at 12 November 2014, 9:48 PM

Having gone on to play at the great Bloodstock Festival in 2012 under the name MERCILESS FAIL with a great critical response, FORGED IN BLACK promise to deliver great things with their dark, hard hitting mix of old school and Modern Metal with some highly energetic live shows.

With such strong songs, an original sound and an explosive live energy and stage presence to do it justice, it's easy to see how they have been winning over audience after audience, eventually winning the Essex Band Quest and Metal to the Masses 2012 competitions and going on to perform on the New Blood stage at Bloodstock.

FORGED IN BLACK is back with their new EP, “The Exodus” which is a highly enjoyable, energetic and a heavy 3 track EP containing two demos of their older songs, “Forged in Black” and “Accusation of the Innocent” and a new track known as “The Exodus” which encases the original sound that this band have come to create; a mix of Modern Metal with some old school Classic Metal sound thrown into the mix.

The track “Accusation of the Innocent” caught my ear the most as it had more of a Classic Metal sound to it than the other two tracks, and like most Classic Metal songs, it’s going to have a hint of MAIDEN in there and guess what? It did!

Now, there isn’t a lot to say given it’s only a 3 track release but entirely worth listening to and for those wondering, “Forged in Black” and “Accusation of the Innocent” were released on the band’s self-titled debut album and after listening to this EP, I’m sure as hell going to go give that album a listen.
