G.E.N. - No Ink For A Self Portrait Award winner

No Ink For A Self Portrait

Have you ever felt the ecstasy of discovering a new bad? Popping in that first CD, cassette, or even vinyl and just being blown away going "man, this is way better than I expected!"? If you somehow haven't and want to, or just love the feeling of it then you're in the right place! The new album released through Sun Empire Records from Doom Metal band G.E.N. is a must grab for you.

G.E.N. bring Doom Metal to a whole new level with this album, it may even bring the dead back to life that’s just how doomy it is. With some face melting guitar solos and killer riffs, absolutely banging drums, a slew of wicked bass parts and not to mention both the clean and growling vocals will help G.E.N. to revive the barely existent Doom Metal scene. The tracks "Monologue of an Isolated Man" are the cream of the crop for not just this album but the entire genre of Doom Metal. Split into two parts it brings to life what goes on in the mind, telling the story of practical insanity. The story isn't told just through lyrics but the instruments are the soundtrack to a mad man. Just imagine that every sound you hear is the sound that would be in your mind. The sound of being mad, the sound of your constant thoughts being brought to life.

Doom Metal is still alive and kicking, if you're looking for it. G.E.N. are ready to hit you right in the nose with it, if you're a fan of Doom Metal, a gothic approach to metal, or just good Metal all together I highly suggest picking up "No Ink For A Self Portrait".
