GLORYFUL is a band from Gelsenkirchen, Germany playing epic type of Heavy Metal, formed in 2010. Their 3-track demo
“Sedna’s Revenge” gained them a high reputation among the classic Heavy Metal underground. Finally,
“The Warrior's Code” came about recently. They chose legendary Swedish sound alchemist
Dan Swanö as their producer, and it brought them only good.
“The Warrior’s Code” was my favorite, a ground where powerful riffs meeting melodic alterations. The choir presented on the chorus is practically similar to
SABATON’s victorious manners, with amazing energy. I really enjoyed it, this is an amazing catchy track, profound guitaring, both lead and rhythms, assembling sections that might also indicate of
IRON MAIDENish nature.
“Gloryful’s Tale” is a high roller, presenting decisive musicianship and melodic perception; the singing reminded me of the strapping
MANOWAR.
“Far Beyond Time” demonstrated another slick memorable tracker while
“Heavy Metal – More Than Meets The Eye” displays great melodies finding
MAIDEN along with a
MANOWARish intent, yet this one is rather modern. Vocalist
Johnny La Bomba once again unleashed his magnetic force.
“Breaking Destiny” inflamed with spirit of
IRON MAIDEN meeting
Bruce Dickinson’s solo act, heavy, groovy yet still classic.
Also worth to listen is:
“Sedna’s Revenge” shared similarities with
PEGAZUS’s antics, mixing flavors of Heavy and Power Metal,
“Evil Oath” with fast rhythm & melodic riffs by a fair twin guitar mayhem in the line of
JUDAS PRIEST and
“Fist Of Steel” with a prevailing rhythm section and strong drumming.
“Chased In Fate” adjoined as a modern ballad, kind like something that
POWERWOLF might show in their albums.
GLORYFUL have been margining various great old bands like
IRON MAIDEN,
JUDAS PRIEST, MANOWAR and others of the kind. etc. and this is clearly listenable in their work.
“The Warrior’s Code” is a fine Heavy Metal album bursting with melodies, pure admiration for the gods of true Metal, carrying the torch for the days to come. For a debut, an amazing work. I can't wait for their new songs.
