Gluttony - Cult of the Unborn Award winner

Cult of the Unborn
by Brian “Metal” Morton at 08 July 2018, 4:21 AM

Alright if you are a fan of BLOODBATH and EDGE OF SANITY this album is for you! GLUTTONY and their new album “Cult of the Unborn” is absolutely fucking amazing! It starts off heavy and does not let up. The first track “Death is only the Beginning” kicked my ass. Everything in that track was perfect. And then we have the song “Gluttony” which is just as amazing as the track before.

“Torn from the Grave” is the third one up and is an absolute shredder! Whip out your best gorilla lip cause you’re gonna need it! Anders Haren and John Henriksson help Magnus Odling tear the house all the way down! “Church of Rot” is the song where Max Bergman stands out in my opinion. It is definitely one of my favorites. The drum work is immaculate as well. The fifth track is “Cult of the Unborn” which if you are a fan of a double kicker like me, you will love it. Its not as fast as the previous songs but that doesn’t make it any less kick ass!

“Chalice of Maggots” is an absolute banger. I listened to it several times in a row, not gonna lie. It has everything you could want in a Death Metal song. It is only a little over three minutes but feels a whole lot longer. “Bane of the Crimson Lord” keeps the album running smoothly and then out of nowhere it kicks you right in the teeth. Loved every second of this album so far.

The second to last song is called “Divine Dismemberment”. Everything in this track makes it truly amazing from the beginning to the end. And sadly we come to the end with “The Casket Master”. At first I thought we had a slow song, boy was I wrong. It almost has a Djent feel to it at certain parts. It is a great end to a great album. “Cult of the Unborn” will be in the albums I keep on hand. I cannot wait to hear what the sound like in the future and if this album is any indication, I am sure I will be very happy with it! Great job GLUTTONY!!!!
