Two decades of pure Death Metal history are here to remind us of the importance of the Swedish Death Metal scene. And when I say Swedish Death Metal, do not even dare to think about melodic guitar leads, keyboards and stuff like that! What we have here is pure and unadulterated old school Death Metal with no intentions of showing mercy to your poor ears that will bleed after you listen to Dominion VIII. Smell the stench of death surrounding you!
The Swedish warmongers are back with a brand new album through my beloved Regain Records proving that this is one of the high quality reunions. After a long break the band took between 1996 and 1999, they decided to play together again and show that they are not the ones that will give up so easily. Thus, one of the most important Swedish Death Metal bands came back to life to kick our sorry asses and offer some raw old school stuff to the hungry for real music fans.
This band is a member of the big family that includes acts like ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, UNLEASHED and many other bad kids in its ranks. If you are expecting to find any modern or melodic elements in here, better go look somewhere else. GRAVE is a band that never followed the evolution of Metal music or the trends that some people and bands have set to this scene. So, the album grabs your balls with war hymns like A World In Darkness and Bloodpath and you just kneel and ask for some mercy.
I really can't write many things about a band like GRAVE. When this band releases a new album you just know what to expect. Old school Swedish Death Metal at its best. If you liked the new ENTOMBED and DISMEMBER albums, then you will also love Dominion VIII.
