Hazy Hamlet - Full Throttle

Hazy Hamlet
Full Throttle

And there comes another band from the session “nothing new, but good”. And this is what Brazilian quartet HAZY HAMLET brings to us all with their new album, “Full Throttle”.

The band’s music is on the vein from earlier NWOBHM, and with some aspects of German Metal (there’s a strong dose of ACCEPT here), so it’s a band from traditional Heavy Metal. And as I said above, their work really is nothing new, just as many bands, but it don’t mean that the album isn’t good.

The sound production is good, indeed, with the mixing and mastering done by Arthur Migotto. It’s a bit rawer than the necessary, but not to the point of affecting the band’s work negatively. Could be better, but it’s in a good level. And the art from the cover is a good one, a reference for old school bands, a good work of Celso Mathias.

Their best songs are the strong “Full Throttle” (fine guitar work, remembering a lot IRON MAIDEN and NWOBHM bands), the up tempo “Symphony of Steel”, the powerful “Jaws of Fenris”, and “Odin’s Ride”. But all tracks are good.

They only have to work more their sound, get a good producer, as well as the vocalist that needs a little more rehearsals, for he could be in a better shape.
