And from South America, more precisely from Colombia, comes the quintet
HEADCRUSHER, and as it names says clearly, they’re here to crush heads that doesn’t bang, so the reissue of the two last works,
“Let The Blood Run” and
“Black Burning Skies”, now that the band moved to Austin, Texas (USA), can open many doors on the future.
Their musical approach is a mix between very aggressive Thrash Metal and Metalcore, with lots of harsh and brutal music with great melodies arising here and there (especially on guitar solos). But don’t get the wrong idea: under the brutality, we can hear clearly that they have a great preoccupation on creating very good musical arrangements, and their songs are really catching.
The sound production is very fine, clear and very dry, so the instruments gain lots of aggressiveness and weight (the guitars and drums appears a lot in this way). It’s a guarantee of disturbing for your neighbors and of walls trembling!
This reissue is very fine, with a good set of great songs, being the best moments
“Treeless” and
“Common Nonsense” (both showing good mix between Thrash Metal strings attack with Metalcore melodic structures), the more technical
“Against All Reason” (with very good melodies appearing here and there), the excellent
“Lost (And Straight to Hell)” (great guitar solo and vocals), the brutal
“Swimming in a Sea of Death” (bass and drums creating a very heavy basis, and the songs has some extreme Metal touches as well), and the oppressive
“Survival (The Lucifer Effect Part II)”.South America has many good bands, and
HAEDCRUSHER is a spearhead of what can come in the future.
