This 10 minute-long 7 inch split from Atlanta, Georgia’s Black Metal defilers
HELLGOAT starts off with over a minute and a half of atmospheric filler before thrusting the record into the abysmal darkness of the music. Of the two songs on this release, “
Demonic of the Horned Beast” & “
End of Man”, I would probably say that “
End of Man” is a more enjoyable song. I feel like the large amount of audio clip filler on this EP don’t exactly add so much to the atmosphere as it does to just chew up the track length.
I really don’t have much to say about
HELLGOAT. You don’t get the impression from this EP that this is the kind of band that litters their live shows with dead animal carcasses… even though they actually do that. But that’s why I can’t give ‘
End of Man’ a solid recommend. I feel like the band knew that this release wasn’t going to be too substantial but at least represent themselves fitfully on ‘
End of Man’. Before you know it, it’s all over.
I think
HELLGOAT really should have made this record seem more like one of their ominous and biologically hazardous live shows. I can hardly give this a full recommendation.
