No Holier Temple

"No Holier Temple" has set the bar, for me, in this genre. It’s complex mix of Psychedelic Rock, Blues, and Doom / Folk, forest Metal. While listening to this album, I could almost see myself in a forest, feel the wind on my face, and smell the conifer trees around me. Which is quite a feat, since I currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the only thing that smells like a pine tree would be my floor cleaner.. Time to find a new place to live, me thinks.

I fell in love with this album from the first track. It is breathtaking, hauntingly beautiful, with a higher calling than just entertainment. Mat McNerney says: “The songs were written specifically to be channeled by a group. This is the sound of a cult, all focused on summoning the same magic, joined in prayer, haunted by the same demons. We actively pushed for a new way to evolve our sound. I purposely strove to make this album a calculated move-on from "Dawnbearer". This isn’t about using symbols of the occult. This is about a way of living that returns the old gods to their rightful place. We’re a family that worships nature through word and sound. We hope you will join us.”

The album is enchanting, well written, well recorded, and damn near perfect. I give it 9 outta 10. As always friends, stay well, and live free. Cheers!
