HYPERBOREAN is a Italian Death Metal band from Cesena Italy formed in 2012 so that means they are newcomers and they really want to make an impact in the scene. Having been influenced by bands like DECAPITATED, ULCERATE and MESHUGGAH their music is about brutality and they showed us what they can do in this brand new EP with three songs entitled "Shadows".

The three songs on this EP follow the same path, brutality and destruction, the first track "Arcane And Obscure" goes straight to the point, Sara sings like a demon on the loose, harsh vocals and deep screams while Guido beats the shit out of the drums, double beats and snares all over the place, a kind of organized chaos, I would not mind hearing more solos.

"Core Confinement" next track with that distorted guitars and a nice melody in the back ground, Sara vocals really does the job. I can see the influences from DECAPITATED, lovers of the extreme music will have no problem getting into HYPERBOREAN, beware with the monster hidden in the "Shadows That Vibrate" again heavy and dirty and at times sounding more like a Black Metal band. Nothing wrong with that, the song has lots of variations and its quite technical as well, I can see what they are trying to do and despite the long road to achieve  success I think they are on the right track.

HYPERBOREAN have given us a good EP, perhaps three songs are not really what I would love to have but nevertheless, I can see that they have talent and in the future bring to the table a full-length album with more killer songs like these ones. I would love very much if solos and killer solos would be added on the future songs, solos in my view are essential, it makes the songs more complete and when one is doing air guitar is very important. As production goes I am quite happy with that, art cover is good also. Keep up with the good work, HYPERBOREAN have a future for sure.
