Iron And Stone – YCSWC

Iron And Stone
YCSWC
by Caio Botrel at 30 October 2019, 11:09 PM

IRON AND STONE is a Doom Metal band founded in 2012 and their first release the demo "Maelstrom" came out in the same year. A few years have passed and now the band released their first EP "YCSWC" in 2019 and that's what we are going to talk about.

The opening song from the album is "Hand Of Fate" and it starts out with a traditional Doom Metal guitar riff followed by a cool drum work. It reminded me of old BLACK SABBATH and it sounds pretty cool. The riffs from the stanzas are really good and so is the vocal lines. The vocals are a little bit low and it gave the song a cool ambiance. It's a good song. There's a "Shadow On Your Neck" starts out with cool groovy guitar riff and it seems to be a more direct song from the previous one. It has a cool guitar distortion sound. The vocals on this one sound a little bit different as well.

"Old Bitter And Out Of Touch" starts out with a cool guitar melody on the background that grows slowly alongside the guitar riffs and bass n' drums. But as soon as the vocals hits in, the song gets a little bit calmer and the chorus has some cool vocal melodies as well. The song that closes the album is "1958" and starts with an aggressive guitar riff that will make you start banging your head. There's a killer drum sound as well. It's a direct and energetic song with some cool guitar arrangements. The highlight goes to the guitar solo where they manage to create a different ambiance to the song and it sounded cool.

IRON AND STONE have managed to write and record a good EP. The songs were well written and the execution of each instrument was really well done. The production was cool and it gave a different kind of sound as its not modern, but it sounds like if it was recorded on the 70's. They did a great job and I hope that they tour a lot to promote this work, because it's a killer one.
